Michael Edmonson

I am the Co-Founder and CEO of Worthy Mentoring 🏳️‍🌈, a non-profit organization that provides mentorship to the LGBTQ+ community through an innovative iOS and Android App. A tech nonprofit, Worthy Mentoring is changing the way the LGBTQ+ Community supports each other in coming out and coming to accept and love ourselves. Outside of Worthy, I have a background in nonprofit management and development, having spent 5+ years at a philanthropic consulting firm based out of Washington, DC. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside such clients as Special Olympics International, Morehouse College, United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, National Democratic Institute, Smithsonian Institution and Earth Day Network – among many others. Prior to that role, I had the unique opportunity to work for CBS in Los Angeles, California garnering valuable public relations and marketing experience across a variety of television shows and platforms. Outside of work, I stay active playing tennis, running, and in the gym. I have a passion for my community and neighbors in Washington, DC and I’ve also had the unique opportunity to live, study, and volunteer in countries around the globe, speaking Spanish as a second language. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated top of my class at Louisiana State University.

Michael Edmondson is the founder and CEO of Worthy Mentoring, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects mentors and mentees in the LGBTQ+ Community through a mobile iOS and Android App. The Worthy Mentoring App offers a safe platform for our community to seek personal guidance, professional advice, support, and friendship. Many of our mentees sign up for advice on how to come out to family and friends, for help reconciling their faith with their sexuality or gender identity, for guidance on navigating the workplace as a queer person, or just to talk to someone like them. The Worthy Mentoring App is available to download now in the US!
