Jessica Murrey

Jess is an awarding-winning communications specialist and common ground activist. She is the co-founder and creative mind behind W!CKED SAiNTS Studios, a mobile interactive story game designed to forge real-life heroes. Jess specializes in social change communication, awareness campaigns, and getting in the audience’s head. At age 24, she received a Northwest Regional Emmy for Community Service for her lead role in “Don’t Turn Away,” an anti-child abuse media campaign. Months later, her PSA “Meth Mirror” won Oregon Association of Broadcasters' Award for “Best PSA 2012”. Jess then spent four years running the global communication department for Search for Common Ground, the world’s largest dedicated peacebuilding organization. During that time, she established new organizational branding, messaging, internal systems of content gathering and distribution, and strengthened programs’ capacity in storytelling, social media, and brand creation. Utilizing the Nobel Peace Prize-nominated NGO’s experience, Jess trains young leaders in some of the most hostile place on earth in Social Change Communication. She uses what she’s coined the “Tattoo Method” to design creative campaigns and activities that have the power to shift people’s attitudes and behaviors. She has used the framework in collaboration with local peacebuilders to develop communication strategies and awareness campaigns for projects from Kyrgyzstan to Nigeria to Myanmar to Burundi. Most recently, Jessica returned from giving three Social Change Communication workshops in Colombia around mobilizing citizens towards reconciliation in a post-conflict situation. Jess continues to use her framework in the design and content creation in the development of "Pathways"-- the latest game for W!CKED SAiNTS Studios.

Caroline Spears is the Executive Director at Climate Cabinet, which began as a volunteer-based team in 2018, when a Texas state legislature candidate asked for climate talking points and policy solutions that were relevant to her district. They realized that this need was not unique: many candidates want to run on strong climate platforms but don’t have the time to simultaneously run a full-time campaign and do cutting-edge policy analysis. Thus, Climate Cabinet Action was born. Climate Cabinet Action has supported candidates and pushed climate on the campaign trail in four campaign cycles, including 2018 state legislature races, 2019 presidential primaries, 2020 state and congressional races, and 2021 Virginia House of Delegates elections.
